So ok let's start at the beginning. The reason I started the journey of business was because my hope in life was to move to Japan, start a life there and to build my own animation studio. I have been so inspired by the legendary creators of anime and manga and I want this to be my future too. But, to get there and achieve this big dream I'm gonna need big support.

I am so inspired by the colour and style of Japanese anime and manga

Just to name a few big steps;

  • Get a university degrees to develop my animation skills (I'm already getting a head start teaching myself at home with an animation tablet I got for my birthday).

  • Work experience so that I can become a Padawan of animation where I can learn from the masters in their field.

  • Learn more about Japanese art and culture so that one day I can travel to and live there—oh and of course, learn the language!

So this got me thinking. How could I actively start heading towards my goal?

I realised that just because I'm young doesn't mean I need to wait for things to happen—I wanted to work for my goal and what better, than to start early.

After much gentle persuasion my mum agreed to support me along the way and become my first investor, mentor and help me get started.

So with that it was time to get started!

My first step was to buy a domain so my investor (the bank of mum) bought me the one I wanted, called thebankofmum.com. Step 2: was to build a website which I did on Wix. It was super easy to do, and I really enjoyed playing with how this site would look and what it should say. Step 3: was to write my first blog and launch my site—here goes—tick!

Step 4: well follow my journey and we will learn together as I go.

You may still be wondering why did I start this blog and the reason is simple. I wanted to share my experiences and the trial and error of me trying to build my future nest egg. I know I am going to have to learn lots, about a lot of different things along the way, so why not share that learning to help inspire other young entrepreneurs?

If I can do it (and let's see if I can) then I don't see why anyone else couldn't follow in my footsteps. You too could start turning your dream for the future into action.

So—if you also have big dreams and goals then you're in the right place since this the Bank of Mum—the rise and fall of a young entrepreneur and this is my story—as yet unwritten.

Watch this space, and thank you for joining me.

Always aim high,

Big Dreamer
